I am incredibly proud to be representing the province of New Brunswick at Miss Teenage Canada! In this blog post, I will be sharing with you all that makes New Brunswick unique.
I love the beautiful nature that can be found all over the province. Our provincial tree is the balsam fir and our provincial flower is the purple violet. In fact, over 80% of New Brunswick is covered in forest.
Being a maritime province, fishing is very important here. Some of the popular festivals in New Brunswick are the Shediac Lobster Festival and the Campbellton’s Salmon Festival.
We are also the only officially bilingual province in Canada. I love being raised bilingual because I can understand more of my surroundings. My friends and I will often go back and forth between French and English. In New Brunswick, about one third of the population identifies as Acadian, including myself. I love celebrating Acadian day on August 15th.
I hope this helped you learn a little about my beautiful home!
